Giving Back: Three Ways To Spread The Love In The DMV Area
Three Ways To Give Back To Your Community This February
As a local business, we know there’s so much to love about the DMV area. Donna Kerr Group remains committed to serving our community. Here’s a list of our top five ways you can serve the DC, Maryland, and Virginia region as well.
1. Spend The Afternoon Solving Food Insecurity - Capital Area Food Bank
One out of every ten residents in the metropolitan DC area is food insecure. Nearly one-third are children. You can make a meaningful impact on families by helping “bridge the monthly gap between what they have and what they need” by spending a few hours helping Captial Area Food Bank. We speak from experience when we state that your volunteering can provide an enriching opportunity to help your neighbors while making meaningful connections. You can make a difference in the lives of ten percent of the population of the DC, Maryland, and Virginia region the Capital Area Food Bank serves.
2. Support A Maryland Cat Or Dog With Disabilities - Pets With Disabilities
If you watched this year’s Puppy Bowl, you may have fallen in love with Jett, the Maryland puppy with a wheelchair and a whole lot of football skills. Did you know Jett is a local too? He made it all the way to the puppy bowl to represent Pets With Disabilities, a grassroots organization committed to ensuring dogs and cats who have physical disabilities are cared for properly and providing education about animals with disabilities to the public. There are a variety of ways you can help these animals. From financial donations, buying merchandise, joining the critical care team, or even adopting a pet of your own, the possibilities are endless when it comes to making a difference in the lives of these special pets.
3. Help Someone Conquer Their Job Hunt - Maryland New Directions
This 47-year-old nonprofit organization provides employment coaching and career training programs for Baltimore area residents for free. Each year, Maryland New Directions works with over 350 unemployed and underemployed motivated individuals who often face obstacles in their career path. Ready to make a meaningful impact on the lives and economy of your community? You can help by telling your own career story, working as a guide, donating business clothing, or simply donating.
What’s your favorite way to serve your community? Let us know by sending us a message on our social media so we can share your favorite opportunities to spread the love in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area.
